Thoughts on the rose
The rose is the only flower whose name can be changed to spell the Greek god of love, Eros. Also it is the only flower to have an anagram to sore, which would indicate that the thorns of the rose can be a sharp reminder that from love, flows pain. In the case in unrequited, rejected or love that has perished, the pain can be very great. It also reminds us that even the greatest love, has it’s price.
Rose Poem by John Boyle O’Reilly
“I send you a cream white rosebud
With a flush on it’s petal tips
For the love that is present and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips”
Don’t forget to organise a gift for the Mother of the Bride and the Mother of the Groom. It is usual to present them both with a gift or a bouquet during the reception.
I was very thrilled when a large bouquet arrived for me while my daughter and her new husband were away on honeymoon, just to say “thank you”
